Goyal met Pankaj Chaddah, who would later co-found Zomato, when he was hired as a Senior Associate Consultant at Bain & Company following his graduation.
Founding Zomato
Goyal was motivated to simplify the meal delivery system by his love of food. Goyal and Chaddah started FoodieBay.com in 2008 while they were still working at Bain and Company. Foodiebay grew to become Delhi-NCR’s largest restaurant directory in just nine months. Soon after, investors including Info Edge India, Sequoia, Temasek, Vy Capital, and Ant Financial of Alibaba started contributing money to it.
